Golf Technology and the Golf Putter
Although most credit the invention of the game of golf to Scotland, the game of golf itself can be traced back to Rome, China, Persia, England, and France dating as far back as the 14th century. During this time the game itself has undergone radical changes.
While the game and its equipment have changed most players will agree the most important aspect of the game is putting. Bobby Locke is quoted as saying "In fact Among golfers the putter is usually known as the payoff club and how right that is! Putting is in fact a game in itself."
One might ask "How hard can it be to invent a club that hits a ball into a hole!?" The science and technology behind the club can actually be quite intense.
The original golf putter, like almost all early clubs, was completely crafted in wood. The putter follows the same evolution of clubs till most recently when clubs, and the technology behind them has undergone incredible improvements.
Golf putters have been built from wood, iron, steel, aluminum, and graphite (introduced in 1973). In fact today golfers still use steel (usually at the amateur level) while professionals use graphite.

A search for "Golf Putter Patent" today yields more than 150,000 results! In fact even major media outlets (Golf Magazine) have examined the integral importance technology makes to golf and specifically the golf putter. It was determined that even a club which uses so little force can have major differences when it comes to putting ability.
The golf putter is also one of the few clubs that differs dramatically from other clubs. While most players still use the standard length of 32-35" a new golf putter, generally called the belly putter, can be 6 to 8 inches longer!
The golf putter is also one of the few clubs that differs dramatically from other clubs. While most players still use the standard length of 32-35" a new golf putter, generally called the belly putter, can be 6 to 8 inches longer! Although a "better" club it has been a source of controversy. Pro player John O'Hara, Langer and Vijay Singh have used belly putters at some point with a marked improvement of their short game. Other players like Tiger Woods have condemned it as conferring an unfair advantage on users.
One club that has made quite the improvement is the driver. It now has the ability to customize your club with "weighted" technology. Only recently has this technology been applied to the golf putter.
There are essentially three players in this field, balance certified, tour lock pro, and slotted shaft technology. If the past 20-30 years have been any indication we can expect to see a continued focus on golf, golf technology, and specifically its applicability to the golf putter!
Golf Science Technology will revolutionize the way you use a Golf Putter. The SST Golf Putter can be "tweaked" to meet the Stimpmeter of a putting green!

How To Buy Junior Golf Club Equipment
by Golf Fan
When you first start your kids out, you want to take them somewhere to get their junior golf clubs that sells all types of junior golf equipment. The reason for this is that all kids are different heights, obviously, and they all need different lengths. You can make sure they are getting clubs for their junior golf club set that fits their size so they can learn well. If they have the wrong sizes, they are not going to learn a good and natural swing, and that can mean they never adjust right as they grown. That can lead to frustration and a lack of interest in golf later on.
If you like to play golf, your children are probably going to want to try playing sometime soon. Children always want to copy their moms and dads, and that means they are going to find interest in all of the things that they see their parents doing. If the child's parents play golf, the children are going to show some interest in it. You can always take them to the putt putt range, but they are going to want to try the real thing. Start out by getting them a junior golf club set and then go from there.
When my husband first got junior golf clubs for my daughter, he bought them one piece at a time. This is something that many moms and dads can do, especially if money is an issue. We got her a bag that was just her size, and then bought her just one club. The driver was the obvious choice as the first addition to the junior golf club set that she wanted so badly. That meant she had a bag like daddy, and could go learn to drive first. They went to the driving range together and were both very happy.
If this is something you would like to do for a junior golf club set, you can then do what my husband did next. He slowly bought her one club at a time, teaching her what it was and how to use it as they went along. She only has four at the present time, but she is getting good with each of them. She is young yet, but is very proud of her junior golf club set and cant wait to make more of it. However, the problem is now that she is getting a little taller and we may have to start all over again with a longer set of golf clubs.
You will find that this will be a problem for you when getting junior golf clubs also. If you have more than one kid, you can simply pass them down the line to the youngest. If you have just one, like we do, you may have to find a way to see what you can sell when you have to move up more sizes. If you don't care much about the price, you can always donate the junior golf club set that your child has outgrown to programs locally that get children involved in sports and physical education.

Ping Rapture V2 VS The Ping G5
by George Statos
What does a successful driver mean to you? For some people, the more technologically advanced a driver is the more effective and high-performing it is. This is probably what the Ping company was going for when they produced the Ping Rapture V2. These are one of the most high-priced drivers in the market and their innovative details are the reason why.
Included With the Ping Rapture is a composite web crown that includes a portion of titanium. This does not mean that the entire driver is titanium. Not being totally titanium is a positive. This removes any additional weight in the head and adds 20 grams of discretionary weight. The weight is shifted to the sides and back so that the moment of inertia is higher and the launch angle is higher. For some, this compromises the ability to achieve greater distances but it really depends on the skill level of the player.
This also gives the driver a more solid sound. Aside from weighting, the V2 also has a hotter face with variable thickness. You not only get advanced technology, but also traditional club head shaping.
The Rapture currently has a number of fans, but those who have had the experience with the Ping G5 are not all ready to switch drivers. The main reason is that the Rapture does not offer that much more than the G5 when it comes to technology. However, the Rapture is more forgiving and does deliver a bit more distance. In addition, the stock Aldila VS Proto shaft in the Rapture V2 is slightly better than the G5.
While the Rapture ranks well when it is compared to competitor models from other companies, it is still one of the more pricey ones. If price is not an issue, then the Rapture will perform to its highest potential.
