The goal of putting couldn't be simpler: put the golf ball in the hole. Yet nothing quite shows the gap between 'simple' and 'easy' like putting. A proper setup is fundamental to of proper putting technique. Set up correctly, and the correct putting stroke will be more achievable. An optimal putt strokes an arc instead of a straight line. A smooth arc is natural and intuitive. Avoid rocking your shoulders or your putter's path will be suboptimal. Learn to use these five lines by instinct to achieve a proper setup.
