Why is it all the best golf courses tend to be in rainy areas If you're as much of a golf nut as I am, you've certainly slogged your way to many a soggy green. Fortunately, there are quite a few products to help make your wet game more enjoyable and less, well, wet!

The right golf rain gear is important. All golf rain gear is constructed from lightweight fabric that allows free movement of the arms for an unencumbered golf-swing, and is completely silent and keeps the wearer comfortable in a wide range of temperatures. That you get a rain suit made or Gore-tex, which is the best material to have, just a little pricey A rain suit could run several hundred dollars, but we have seen deals as low as $129 or so And make sure you get one of those bucket hats. I know they look horrible, but if you want to keep the rain out of your eyes (especially if you wear glasses); they are the best hats to be wearing.

The Golf Bag:

You want a golf bag that keeps everything dry, from your clubs to that iPod you'd rather not have in your pants while you're trying to fetch a ball out of a water trap. It's an essential part of the wet-yip's arsenal. After all, there's nothing worse than letting your phone get rained on. Except maybe running it through the wash. Not that I have experience with that, of course...

Golf Gloves:

You should invest in a pair of rain gloves, because when it rains, that leather glove will soak up rain faster than a sponge " not to mention those grips. Rain gloves work better the wetter they are, so no matter what the downpour, you wont lose the grip

The Golf Shoes:

Beat the Wet Feet! Nobody likes wet feet, at the altar or the green! While they may not help you in the former, waterproof golf shoes will certainly aid you in the latter situation. The best are guaranteed not to get soaked, so hold on to that receipt in case they do! Investing in more than one pair cant hurt anything except your wallet, and will let them dry between rounds on the course. Bring a couple extra pairs of socks, as well.

Golf Wind-Proof Umbrellas:

Durable golf umbrellas are a must for players seriously considering braving the storm. What better way to keep your equipment dry than to not let it get wet the first place? If youre going to get one, be sure it has vents on the top to keep it from inverting at the worst possible moment.

While not a complete list, these are the must-haves for any golfer getting his round rained on. Don't go crazy (Unless you like dressing your tees in little ponchos, that is), but definitely look into some of the higher end stuff if you can afford it. If you don't mind braving the elements in order to enjoy a round, do yourself a favor: get some decent golf rain gear. Of course, if you want to be a literal wet-yip, who am I to argue?
